Jane’s Story

Jane is a founder member of arteast and is a key person when it comes to planning and organising projects. She was involved in the creation of this website, making sure that all information about arteast is accessible. Jane is part of the decision making group when it comes to discussions about products, pricing and organising the enterprise.

Jane has been involved in the production of T-Shirts for the Bubble Club, a nightclub run by people with learning disabilities. She has made her own design and many of her T-Shirts have been sold at the event attended on average by 200 people.

Jane, along with another member of arteast work regularly at the Bubble Club. Jane is also on the Bubble Club committee. Jane is a very proactive member of the group and is always vocal during planning sessions; she was very excited about arteast’s exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. It was not possible to take the whole group to the gallery for installation; however, Jane assisted in hanging the show. She attended the opening night event and was very inspired by the whole project.

Jane has been involved in other projects including a King Kong themed window display in Canary Wharf, exhibitions at Rhythm Factory and Brady Arts Centre, and a window display for a bike shop.

In 2008, Jane was awarded a grant to enable her to undertake her own series of paintings leading to a solo show of her work at the Spitalfields Gallery.
